How To Make Your Highlighter POP!

Have you often had that dilemma where you go searching for the right highlighter and when you think you've found the one, you find out that it doesn't truly give you that pop that everyone says it does. Now while there are a bunch of factors that all differ for everyone when it comes to finding a highlighter that is perfect such as skin tone, formula, colour, shimmer, glitter etc. you can bypass all that with my little trick to really get that highlighter popping!

Are you ready for the tip? Are you ready for it? Layering! Layering? YES, layering.

For all those who just rolled their eyes, give me a chance to explain. What might sound like a simple idea or something you perhaps never even thought of. Layering your highlighter can do wonders to make it stand out from the crowd!

You will need 2 things which is why I suggest using the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette because you get endless possibilities and a variations of colours and combinations to choose from.

For the first layer use a cream formula highlighter. Something like the shade ecliptic from the Sleek Solstice Palette, the Topshop Glow in Polished (only in available in stores) or the Nude by Nature Illuminator are great highlighter bases. I simply just use my fingers to dab the product onto the high points of my cheek and on my brow bone. I suggest you use something that isn't too BAM! Because that's what the next step is for. A cream formula will sink into the skin nicely and naturally and provides longevity to your highlighter. The next step is where your powder highlighter comes in.

My fave powder highlighter is the shade Hemisphere from the Sleek Solstice Palette because of the slight tinge of purple that really stands out from my natural complexion. From here you can build upon a variety of different highlighters with different hues you can use something more natural and peachy like the Tarte Ethused Blush (Similar) or the more natural golden hue from the Rimmel Kate Sculpting Palette*.
