Mario Badescu Buttermilk Moisturiser Review

So let's start off with the brand. Mario Badescu is a brand that started off with humble beginnings. From a two bedroom apartment, he wanted to bring European styled facials to the city of New York! They even stated to wanting to invest it all in the product itself. (Which to me I think is one of the most important factors.) Which is why it was surprising when they state that packaging and advertising was not high on the list when it comes to delivering the best product to its customers. Instead they relied heavily on word of mouth.

This philosophy could have easily lost the company big points in the early days of their formation. But fast forward to today and I think that there is something to be said for their minimalist packaging (that millennials, like myself love today). They have also morphed into being a cruelty free brand which I love!

While the brand may sound familiar to you because of their coveted facial spray and drying lotion. I'm going to talk about the Buttermilk Moisturiser which I think should be at the top of the list too!

For a person with dry and sensitive skin, I'm always on the hunt for my next big skin saviour and this is my current go to.

First of all, I adore the packaging! It's minimal and isn't packaged in your stereotypical pot form, so it's not prone to bacteria every time you open it. Instead there is a little door like hatch where you can squeeze out as little or as much as you need. I'm also a fan of the 50ml bottle size making it perfect for travel (for me, this was my plane saviour when I was travelling).

Now moving on to the actual product. This is my current only go to moisturiser at the moment, not only because it rocks my fave blue colour but the formulation is simply divine! It is a moisturiser with a thick formulation but not so thick that it can be interchangeable for either day or night. It has a fresh linen like scent that is not overpowering but subtle when applying and doesn't irritate my very sensitive skin.

So if you're on the hunt for the a great moisturiser, especially if you've got upcoming travels. I highly recommend!
